Abby is a creative producer, writer, and romantic based in New York City. She manifests ideas, aligns collaborators, and strives to find beauty in all corners of life.

She received her BFA in Theatre with a minor in producing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. There, she studied the Stella Adler technique, focused on television programming, and practiced independent production. In 2021, Abby was selected as one of eight multi-hyphenate artists to participate in the Nine Muses Entertainment Lab, mentored by Bryce Dallas Howard and Nia Farrell. It was during this lab that she wrote and directed her debut short, Adobo, where Abby starred opposite her mom, IRL.

Abby began her professional experience as an intern at Mother Films, working for CEO and founder Doris Casap. She’s had her hand in on-set physical production, having worked as a team supervisor on the first season of Amazon’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Most recently, Abby worked as an agent assistant at William Morris and Endeavor Agency in both theater and scripted television. There, she also participated as a co-leader of the comedy-crossover tracking group, a member of the Asian coalition, and contributed to the Blacklist script coverage team. She was a finalist in the agency’s internal Big Pitch competition, which she entered with her original scripted series concept.

Abby co-founded Heirloom Entertainment with collaborator Alexis Dobynes. Heirloom, a creative company, aims to preserve artistry and reimagine heritage across emerging and classic media. As a part of Heirloom, Abby executive produced Best Years, a web series created by Josh Bonzie. She also coordinated the inaugural short film production at the Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at NYU. Heirloom has many projects currently in development, including a feature film by Dobynes.

When she’s not on set or at her desk, Abby shares tales and tips on making it in New York as a 20-something on Instagram and Substack @approvedbyabbs. Here, she aims to be the big sister she wished she had when she moved to the city and seeks to help one hopeless romantic at a time.

Abby is a loud and proud Filipina with the hopes of illuminating her festive, funny, and loyal culture through her art. She loves her family, Gilmore girls, Mr. Darcy, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and is currently going through a country music phase which doesn’t seem to be fading anytime soon.

I believe Abby’s creative resourcefulness, storytelling ingenuity, and solution-oriented work ethic is an asset to every room she is in; her ability to guide and support a creative process from concept to execution in any role is a gift to those who work with them.
